howdi, nice to meet you!

Lia

howdi!

My name is Lia, and I am a 17-year-old cancer survivor. At the age of three, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) – the most common form of blood cancer found in children. After three years of chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and countless needles, I was lucky enough to be cured.

Ever since then, I have been so grateful for the work that doctors, nurses, researchers and volunteers do every day, as well as for all the other children with leukemia who came before me. I benefitted from all the research that was done, and that is why I feel it’s my responsibility to help the kids who are fighting this battle against cancer now, and for all the kids who will be fighting it in the future.

It’s also why I decided to start howdi.love. By collaborating with my brother, Dad, and a group of our friends, we hope to share our message and make a positive difference in the world. It’s not just cancer research that needs support, there are so many important causes in the world. Help us create a brighter future.

Send a howdi. Send some love.

Kai

Howdi everyone!

My name is Kai and I’m 15 years old. I love soccer and I am an amazing GM in NBA 2K 21.

I helped to create howdi with my Dad and my sister because I’ve always wanted to help charities and we thought this would a really fun way to do it.

My sister had cancer when we were little and it was thanks to lots of amazing research and the incredible work of so many people that she was cured. We feel very lucky and now we want to help as many people around the world as we can!

There are lots of important causes that need support so…

Send a howdi. Send some love!

Alex

howdi!

My name is Alex and I’m a 19-year-old high school student from Niagara, Ontario. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, as well as playing sports – especially hockey which I’ve been playing since I was 6 years old.

I’ve always been so inspired by people who go out of their way to help others and make a positive change in the world. That’s why I was so happy to get involved with starting howdi. I want to make a positive change in the world.

One of my biggest inspirations for working with howdi is my close childhood friend Lia. She fought and beat cancer as a young girl, and now we’re trying to help as many people as we can. howdi is a way for me (and you) to raise money for so many important causes such as research to find cures for illnesses, helping to beat hunger and poverty, and so much more.

Little things go a long way, especially when everyone takes part in helping—so even if you think there’s nothing you can do, there always is. If you have the same question that I did early on — what can I do? — the simple answer is:

Send a howdi. Send some love. 🙂

Roxy

howdi!

I’m Roxy and I am a 18-year-old high school student from Burlington, Ontario.

So, you might be thinking, what made you want to get involved in creating howdi?

I have a younger sister named Ginger, and in 2015 she suddenly got very sick. In the hospital, Ginger was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I have seen firsthand how diabetes has forever changed her life, and how much it affects the lives of my entire family every day. Although there are treatments and devices to manage diabetes — like insulin pumps and blood sugar testers — there is currently no cure, meaning my sister will have to deal with this disease for the rest of her life.

Luckily, medical technology continues to advance quickly, and there is now even hope a cure for diabetes will be found – which could help, not only my sister, but millions of children, adults, and families all around the world who deal with this disease every day. Like everything else though, this technology requires a lot of time, energy, resources and people to develop, all of which are only available if properly funded. I got involved with howdi to help provide funding to organizations like JDRF so that medical advances can continue to be made. I’d love nothing better than to see a project I worked on one day directly help my own sister.

I personally believe in howdi and think it’s amazing because I can see it helping so many people in the future, and I hope that by working with all kinds of charities we can make a difference in the lives of many, many people. We created howdi to spread love in this world, especially to those who are going through really difficult times. If you want to spread this love as much as I do, all you have to do is send a howdi to someone you love, and your donation will go to spreading even more love to individuals and families who need it the most!

Evie

howdi!

I’m Evie , a 19-year-old high school student from Milton, Ontario.

I have always wanted to be a part of something bigger than me, in any way I could. howdi is the perfect way for me to help as many people as I can and to learn the different facets of running a successful business. I am always eager to meet new people and expand my knowledge, and howdi lets me do just that!

I am so grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to send some howdis and send some love.

Sophia

howdi!

I’m Sophia and I’m 16 years old.

I’m so grateful I have the opportunity to work with howdi because we’re working hard to support important causes and to help lots of people.

As someone who has close family members with disabilities that need expensive treatments, I know how hard it can be to balance expensive treatments with all the other things you need to take care of in your life.

Please join us to help those in need and support research and all kinds of great causes by sending a howdi video to someone you care for. You’ll make not only their day but lots of other peoples too!

Send a howdi. Send some love.

Gabriel

howdi!

I’m Gabriel, and I’m a 15-year-old middle school student from Oakville, Ontario.

I am very proud to be part of howdi and to be helping people everywhere.

I have a cousin named Sebastian who was born with Down syndrome. He is an amazing person and, as I’ve watched him grow up, I realize how difficult it has been for his parents to have to take care of a child with special needs. Kids with Down syndrome need therapies and, in many cases, heart surgery as soon as they are born. Many families don’t have the economic resources to cover those expenses.

howdi is a great way to help families in need, and to support lots of important causes. With your help, by sending a howdi, and sending some love into the world, we can make a difference.

Send a howdi. Send some love.
